Ο Δρ Χαρίτων Μ. Πολάτογλου είναι Καθηγητής Φυσικής Στερεάς Κατάστασης και Διδακτικής
της Φυσικής Τμήματος Φυσικής Σχολής του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης
(ΑΠΘ) και είναι επικεφαλής του EPG (Electronic Properties Group) και του Μεταπτυχιακού
Προγράμματος Σπουδών Φυσικής Διδακτική & Εκπαιδευτική Τεχνολογία (DIFET).
Τα πεδία ενδιαφέροντος περιλαμβάνουν: Θεωρητική Φυσική στερεάς κατάστασης,
βοηθητικές τεχνολογίες για μαθητές με αναπηρίες τριτοβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης, διδακτική της
Φυσικής, εκπαιδευτική τεχνολογία, μοντελοποίηση υλικών, νανοτεχνολογία και
προσομοιώσεις.

Mobile devices have many functionalities and there is a great set of apps to write digital content for any subject taught at all the educational levels. The combination of the readily available devices and the accompanied software makes mobile devices a very promising and versatile educational technology. Their integration in the teaching practice although desirable it lags the expectations. There are many barriers that hinder their wide application. To enumerate some we can say that a methodology which will be supported by research is lacking, the apps are changing constantly, existing apps offer limited functionality for free and a paid scheme must be invoked and the require a redefinition of education.
