Eleni Georgakopoulou

Georgakopoulou Eleni is a Ph.D. Candidate and Researcher in the Department of Education Studies, School of Philosophy, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (https://en.eds.uoa.gr/). Her research project/thesis is “Semiotic Systems and Students’ Cognitive Development”/ The conceptualization and symbolism of students' cognitive skills through multiple semiotic systems”. This research project is co-financed by Greece and the European Union (European Social Fund- ESF) through the Operational Programme «Human Resources Development, Education and Lifelong Learning» in the context of the project “Strengthening Human Resources Research Potential via Doctorate Research” (MIS-5000432), implemented by the State Scholarships Foundation (ΙΚΥ). She has completed her MA in Theory, Practice and Evaluation of Educator’s Work: Educational Design and Teaching, offered by the Faculty of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has graduated from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Faculty of Philology (Studies in Classical Philology). Her scientific and research interests focus on students’ cognitive development, the importance of cognitive semiotics and the role of semiotic systems in the learning process. She is a member of research teams in many national and European Research Programs (Creations, Student Parliamentary Science, Learning Science through Theater, “Loop”: Scaffolding in Teachers Development: Mentoring and Mentors in Induction Programs. Funding body: European Union, Erasmus+, Children's University, the Action "Skills Workshops" with the topic: New Developments in Learning Theories: From Inquiry to Creativity, Embodied Learning and Social-Emotional Learning PLATFORM 21+: TRAINING LABORATORIES etc.). She has presented scientific articles in scientific conferences and research scientific journals- both international and national- on Educational Sciences, Teaching and Educational Practices, and she has created and written training and educational material for formal research calls.

i) To increase European citizenship and the development of the teaching profession, using shared experiences among the participating countries;
ii) To promote online community learning networks and innovative pedagogical practices among teachers, school leaders and other stakeholders;
iii) To influence teacher training policy in order to strengthen international and intergenerational cooperation;
iv) To contribute to the valorisation of the teaching career by offering successive conditions of support, feedback and guidance;
v) To increase the access and success rate of different mentoring programs.
